April 8th – Iowa 1:1 Institute
Welcome to the Iowa 1:1 Institute! We are glad you are checking on our annual institute and hope you will join us. It is because of each one of you that the Iowa 1:1 Institute has become the largest 1:1 event in the world!
The registration window is now open! Early bird registration ($50) will last until February 28th, 2015. Starting on March 1, 2015, the registration will be $65 per person.
This year will again feature a Leadership Day, where school leaders will attend a special half day event on April 8, 2015. Registration for this event is in addition to your April 8th registration. Read more about the day here.
The Iowa 1:1 Institute exists to:
Help the Midwest’s 1:1 districts learn from each other about innovative teaching, learning, and administrative practices that are occurring in their districts;
Build excitement and ‘buzz’ around 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in the Midwest; and
Help others who are interested in 1:1 computing learn more about how to get started and be successful.
The institute is open to anyone interested in 1:1 laptop computing initiatives in P-12 schools, whether they currently are working in such a program or just want to learn more.
THINKING ABOUT ATTENDING?
Participants are responsible for their own travel, parking, and meal expenses (we’ll take a lunch break!).
We will take a lunch break from 12:30pm to 1:30 pm. A variety of eating establishments are located nearby via the Des Moines skywalk and in the lower level of the Iowa Events Center. Participants are responsible for their own meal expense.
We’ve worked with the Event Center and a private vendor in an attempt to ensure the wireless work for all attendees. In addition, there will be a hard-wired Internet option in each room for presenters.

WANT YOUR REGISTRATION FEE WAVED?
Submit a Presentation (Deadline February 28, 2015):
Presentation submissions are OPEN. You will be notified approximately 3-4 weeks before the conference to let you know whether or not your submission was accepted. If you are selected, the lead presenter will receive a reimbursement of their registration fee for presenting.
If you can bring a projector and a set of speakers to hook up, we will assign you a room to take the equipment to and set it up. In return, you will receive free registration! Note that you will need to have the equipment set up by 8:30am and will have to pick up your equipment after the last session at 4:00pm.
